[ he's thankfully gotten used to the bruise - he's had worse from caving accidents. the damage done in the past 24 hours was more on the emotional side, but thankfully that's much easier to cover up.
he's not looking for direct comfort from her, partially due to the fact that he wouldn't know how to receive it as much as she wouldn't know how to dish it out. they're both a little awkward that way, but her presence is actually enough. it does help - whether it does something for her as well is out of his hands. ]
