[stahn's just passing through the residential district on his way to go shopping for a few things—which means he's largely minding his business when he notices...

well, a metallic looking bird that's the about same height as him?]

except for the part where he's definitely being sized up here, but it's not going to stop stahn from examining things.] I knew they had those robot pets, but this thing's huge...!

[ in many ways, skarmory is thankful for the freedom that steven gives him. while he isn't opposed to staying inside a poké ball, it prefers being able to keep a literal bird's eye view on things in the colony. he can protect his trainer better that way, and it's also a lot more fun.

the latter tends to show itself when interesting (and taunt-worthy) humans take notice of him, which stahn currently has. he was preening his inner feathers, minding his own business... he looks down at him from his perch with sharp, yellow eyes, wondering just what this human could want.

if he sticks around, he might be interested enough to descend for a closer look. ]

[he's definitely sticking around, primarily because he's interested.

...and also because maybe he's a little concerned. he's getting the nagging in his ear from dymlos that he should be careful, but stahn is brushing it off. he's cautious enough that if he perceives a real threat, he'll be ready... but—]

Do you belong to someone? [he wonders curiously, looking around for some signs of an owner. animals, whether cybuddy or not never seemed to be around the colony without being attached to a person who resided or was visiting the colony. but he doesn't see anyone around that seems to be too concerned or looking for this skarmory, so... what's that mean? stahn feels like he should stick around to at least try to help if it's needed.]

[ he doesn't need help, thank you very much! skarmory is an independent pokémon that don't need no help from a strange human. but he's interested enough to nod his head at stahn's question - it understood him completely, which might be a strange thing to see from what appears to be an animal.

after a little more staring, he'll stretch his wings to fly down and land in front of him. a closer look will reveal the long, red feathers underneath his shiny steel armour, which looks to be naturally forming. ]

So you do—

[which for a moment means he's looking around; he doesn't seem lost, but it is safe for this guy to just be out and about on his own like this?

where's his owner?

dymlos will offer him another warning which causes his body to tense slightly as the skarmory lands in front of him. but there doesn't seem to be any aggression, despite the sudden movement, and stahn is somewhat taken aback by what he sees.]

Wow... this is pretty amazing. I really didn't know they made them this good... [because they do look naturally forming, but a bird made of metal that isn't some kind of machine or robot seems totally foreign to him.]

[ now that he's closer, skarmory's eyes will trail from stahn to the sword at his side. while he can't hear dymlos, pokémon tend to have a higher sensitivity to spirits than humans. he's not sure what it is, but there's something interesting about that blade. maybe this human is worth investigating after all... steven might be curious about him, too.

speaking of the devil, both stahn and skarmory will hear what appears to be a person whistling in the distance to call for something. it's a sound that the steel-type knows well, and that means that he'll need to take his leave... momentarily. he still wants steven to see this person, so he'll take a detour when he's picked him up.

he stretches his wings to prepare to take off, but not before leaning down to tap the ground with his beak, as if to tell stahn to "stay here". he'll be back. ]

...I think he wants us to stay.

[stahn mutters quietly to dymlos, and despite the heaved sighs of annoyance from his sword, he can only give in. partially because he's a sword and has no real autonomy... and partially because it's just stahn's nature to be this way.

so stahn will stick around, nodding his head at skarmory as if to confirm that he'll hang around and wait for whatever is about to happen. he's at the ready anyway, should it really become some kind of threat.

(he gets the feeling that's not it, though.)]

[ and with that confirmation, skarmory will fly away to pick up his trainer. considering the speed he can reach in flight, it won't take long - reaching one end of the colony from the other doesn't take more than five minutes for him.

when he can be seen from the air again, a man in a suit can be seen riding on his back. he circles the area once before flying down to descend in front of stahn, hopping off of skarmory's back as it swoops down to the ground to dismount with practiced precision. the steel-type lands beside him as he rises from his crouched landing position, which is when he sees stahn.

his first reaction is one of surprise, because he recognizes this man. he has the same face as the two robots that he had helped another person fend off not long ago, when they were plaguing the colony. that had to mean that this was the original; the person that they modeled themselves after. interesting. ]

...Are you the person that spoke to Skarmory?

[well, that sure is a bit of a strange initial reaction, he thinks. but stahn will be stahn, so he's not going to question it too much—he doesn't quite realize this is someone who has met with his bots, and it doesn't quite occur to him that it's something that may have happened.]

Oh, you must be his owner! [he'll just assume that's the bird's name. how do pokemon work? he just doesn't knoq.] I was pretty surprised to see such a big bird out here like this, that's all. I've only been here for a couple of minutes.

[ thankfully, steven has enough tact to not say "i helped to pin your doppelgangers down while your friend killed them dead" right off the bat. he'll lead up to that later - for now, he'll play along with whatever this is. ]

I am. [ no one knows how pokemon work... it's like naming a dog "dog". but his reaction does get a small smile out of steven. ] I see. I do hope that he didn't disturb you, then - Skarmory has quite an eye for interesting people. You must have something unique about you.
