[ he's learning! and while it's certainly avoided a roundabout conversation about telling the truth and trust and what have you, he doesn't feel all that better. he's still numb and freezing, and that doesn't seem to be on a course of change any time soon. ]

Attempting to keep warm, though that's easier said than done.

[ no matter what he does, the cold that's settled into his core is unrelenting. it's both annoying and exhausting, and it's recognizable in his voice. ]

Have you stocked up on warm drinks and layers? Running a hot bath couldn't hurt, either.

[ Sadly, there are no volcanoes to warm your hands over. ]

Already done, but unfortunately yeilding no results.

[ that makes him chuckle, but it's less out of the fact that it was funny than of grim amusement that such a question has to be asked in the first place. ]

Not entirely, no. I wasn't injured, but... there were some side effects, I suppose.

I went completely blind in one eye and I suffered from varying severity of vertigo and nausea.

Yes, I stayed with some friends for a day, and then I returned home to wait for news. I'm completely fine now.

Considering the fate of some of my group members, I actually got off fairly lightly.

I can understand the sentiment, but it won't do us well to compare misfortunes.

[ he says "we" because actually considers his fate a little better than that of neji's, but that's not a fair way of thinking - it doesn't do well for feelings of guilt, either. he's just relieved that she's safe and in one piece now. ]

[ honestly? yes. back home, the elite four were basically his babysitters, going out to fetch him after he wandered away from the league for whatever arbitrary reason. he needs a cerealia-sitter.

his sigh is an acknowledgement of her words. he's still concerned. ]

I know you said you were fine, but try to take it easy for the next while.

[ he doesn't want her burning out after all of this... hopefully she doesn't have any shifts at stupid o'clock. ]
