Not at all. Carbink is a species of Pokémon - creatures that inhabit my world. While they can exhibit similar capabilities to the demons that you and Otome are used to, they coexist with humans in a similar manner to animals.

P... Pokemon?

[Whoa, whoa... This was definitely new. Hiro's eyes were going rather shiny with this new word, yet there was some confusion to be found there too.]

Wait a second... Did you say that they're living together with humans? You mean... Everything in your world is peaceful and no one is killing each other with them?

[If Hiro wasn't exposed to how demons were, then he wouldn't see any problems with monsters like that hanging out with people. But after past events, he couldn't help and feel a little uneasy at how simple a world like that was like.]

Well, I wouldn't say that everything is completely peaceful. Of course, there are some that use Pokémon and their powers for their own selfish purposes. However, those are usually isolated cases. On the whole, we're able to share the world without casualty.

[ it's pretty nice... at least when the world isn't on the verge of collapse, drought, flood, or takeover by a criminal organization. ]

People can either keep Pokémon as simple pets or train them for competition in battle - I partake in the latter.

Huh... It sounds like a lot of fun, but it's still kinda weird too. A world where monsters and humans can get along, huh?

[Now if that were possible, then Hiro felt that over half of the issues that happened in the previous worlds would've been solved. But it still would've been surreal to see demons and humans getting along even if Hiro was able to make friends some demons himself. He wasn't exactly opposed to making pals with non-humans as long as they showed a shred of humanity within them or they were just cool to hang out with.

Still, he knew that no world was perfect. Just like people... Just like... Ah, he doesn't dwell on the person that he was thinking about in that moment.]

I dunno how much Otome had told you, but the demons we've encountered were murderous creatures. Some of them fulfilled the typical standards that humans built them up to be, then there were some that didn't. Heck, some of the demons I've met were more human than some of the people I've... fought.

[When humans gotten a hold of power, they could become monsters. Hiro definitely knew that.] Have you meant some Pokemon like that?

She told me less about demons and more about the state of the world that you two came from. Weapons being sent to eradicate humanity, people turning against each other... I'm sorry you had to face all of that.

[ there obviously isn't anything that he can do about it, but the least he can do is offer sympathy to the situation they were in. ]

I have. I would say that I'm closer to my team than most people - they have intelligence, morals, and personality that I say would rival that of many humans. We've formed bonds of friendship and respect over the time that we've been together; I trust them with my life, as they do with me.

[ it isn't something he's ashamed of admitting. he's spent years with his pokémon - it's natural that he recognizes what makes them unique. ]

It's all good! We survived through it all! That make us hella awesome! o(^▽^)o

[There's no forced happiness or confidence in that statement as it was all natural. Hiro could be happy that he survived through all that mess and grew up to become a stronger person.

Though Steven says the magical word "friendship" to get Hiro very passionate... Sure, he could be wary around some demons, but the ones that he considered his allies and friends? He practically loved them.]

Oh man, you too?? I know some demons can be assholes sometimes, but they're not ALL bad. I've got a team of demons myself that I've been raising up and making friends with. They've been my allies through good and bad and helped me bite off more than I can chew. They're really fun to be around!

[ HELL yes. friendship is great - if there's one thing they can relate to, it's nakama speeches and the like. for both strength and companionship, bonds like that were important. ]

I'm glad to hear that. Though we may not be from the same circumstances, I can understand the sentiment completely.

If it's all right with you, I'd like to meet them someday.

Right now might not be the best... Yesterday was quite an action-filled day for me. To be honest, I'm a little tired.

[ it wasn't just otomebot that he had to deal with - throw in an adrienbot, a merrilbot with blood magic and a friskbot that had no qualms in kidnapping him, and you have quite a daunting 24 hours. there'd be no merit in lying to him about that. ]

I should be fully rested by tomorrow, though.
